Earlier this year, Amelie O’Brien, a Validation Engineer with ESP was selected through lottery application to participate in the NYC marathon. In case you missed it, you can read her story here. With less than two weeks to go before she sets off from Staten Island, we catch up with Amelie to see how her training is going…
Amelie is currently up to an impressive 20 miles in her training programme having completed a number of key races around Cork county in the past few months. She has found these races have helped her manage her pace and also make sure she will not run out of energy in the middle of the marathon.
Amelie will be flying the flags for both her native France and Ireland on November, 5th 2017.

All of her colleagues in ESP wish her the very best of luck in New York. We are immensely proud of her for undertaking such a grueling feat. For those wishing to support her, Amelie has chosen the charity Concern. Concern work in over 50 countries, and operates in 26 of the world’s poorest countries.
